WHAT HAPPENED:
Congress chartered the Smithsonian Institution today.

It was named after James Smithson, an English scientist, whose half a million dollar bequest made it possible.

LOCATION:
Frisco, TX   USA

WHAT HAPPENED:
During the evening a women saw a bright light land in her neighbor's house. The next day, Sybil Christian, the neighbor discovered three purple blobs. One blob evaporated in the sun and the other two were shipped off to be analyzed.

The analysts reported back that it was only industrial waste.
