WHAT HAPPENED:
Agnes Russell awoke from what she thought was a terrific blow to the cheek. There was an electrical storm going on outside. She yelled out and when no one answered, got up and found her daughter burnt down one side.

Laying beside her daughter was her son-in-law, John Hitchen, who was dead from some mysterious fire. Mr. Hitchen was dragged out onto the street where he continued to burn for three days.
