1888 [SUN] Spontaneous Human Combustion (Drunken Soldier, Colchester, England)

WHAT HAPPENED:
A drunken soldier climbed into a hayloft to sleep it off. He was found completely consumed by fire. The hay around him wasn't even touched.
SHC (Spontaneous Human Combustion) in Charles Dicken's time was considered very real, at least to the general public, but today, there are scientific explanations for most (if not all) of them, but what's weird about this particular event is the fact that the hay around him wasn't burned.
Of course, since I wasn't there I can't vouch for the veracity of this.
This was reported in the April 21, 1888 edition of the The British Medical Journal and from what I understand is a prestigious publication. I searched the archives and found the actual pdf of the original scanned article. It's titled, Case of So-Called "Spontaneous Combustion", but it's only a part of the full article. It cost $60.00 (£50) to look at the whole thing for one day, and maybe someday when I win the lottery I'll be able to afford it, but unfortunately, I don't gamble.
